Data backup of the configuration should be performed before an update. This data backup helps to you revert to the previous version in the event of problems installing the new version.
During the update, system components are also changed, which may take some time depending on the scope:
-
The PostgreSQL is automatically updated to a new version. In this process, the previous database directory is automatically backed up beforehand so that the previous version can be reverted to in the event on an error.
Once migration is successfully carried out, the following backup directory can be deleted:
~smartWAREData/postgresql_before17 -
Batch numbers are now internally saved in a new structure. Conversion of existing batches may take some time when JUMO smartWARE Evaluation is first started.
This change is required, as batch numbers in JUMO variTRON devices are no longer defined in batch rows as from version 10. However, the information will still be available in JUMO smartWARE Evaluation.
The update installation is no different to installation. Existing configuration files such as .env are taken over in the new installation.
Stopping the old installation and starting the new installation again are carried out by an installation script.
