JUMO smartWARE Evaluation
Home / Setup/data overview / Configuration / Device/plant
Once the recorder and the datastore gateway have been configured in JUMO variTRON, the integration of JUMO variTRON into JUMO smartWARE Evaluation is carried out in the next step.
Plant/device overview
The plant/device overview provides an overview of created device spaces that are assigned to a location.

In this example, three device spaces are assigned to the location "company", i.e. three JUMO variTRON systems.
What is a device space?
JUMO variTRON, its process data, and the dashboards for visualization and evaluation are assigned to a device space. The advantage of this assignment is that the same dashboard is still available after a JUMO variTRON is replaced, e.g. in the event of a repair. This means there are no gaps in the measurement data. The device space history also enables the user to track which JUMO variTRON with which fabrication number was in use in which period of time.
The overview is based on the following color key:
View | Meaning |
---|---|
Location | |
Device space without device | |
Device space with device | |
![]() | Number of device spaces |
Where can I find further information on the device space or location?
When hovering over a device space, the device name, the fabrication number, the device type, and the IP address are also shown. The name and a description of the location, if present, are specified for locations.
Can pictures of the devices or locations be displayed?
Pictures can be displayed with the following icons, insofar as pictures have been added for the locations or device spaces:
"Display pictures of the locations and devices in the background"
Background pictures which are displayed instead of the blue tiles can be shown."Display pictures of the location/device"
Pictures can be added which are displayed when hovering over a device. The relevant picture appears in the tooltip and can be moved.
The "Defining plant" button can be used to change an existing plant or create a new one.

All devices that have successfully transmitted data to the Datastore are listed on the left-hand side in the "Devices" tab in the plant definition. Templates for new locations are listed in the "Locations" tab.

The checkmark next to the device shows which devices are already used in the plant/device overview.
If a device or location is selected on the left-hand side, an additional area with the properties that cannot be yet be configured appears on the right-hand side.
If a location is selected in the center area, its properties (name, description, and picture) can be configured on the right-hand side.
The structure of the location can now be defined in the center area under "company". To do so, a location, building, storey, etc. can be pulled into the "company" using drag and drop. A device can then also be assigned to the location using drag and drop.
Once the device has been assigned to the device space, the period of time in which the device is used is defined.

The "indefinitely" rule is selected for the duration of use.
Optionally, a picture can also be assigned to the device space in order to illustrate the operating location, for example. The following settings are available to configure the picture:
View | Meaning |
---|---|
![]() | A picture file in PNG format is selected by means of a mouse click in the window or pulled into the window by means of drag and drop. |
![]() | The picture brightness is set using the slider. |
![]() | The picture is deleted. |
If a device is selected in the center area, it is highlighted in blue and can be moved using drag and drop or removed using the "Remove from plant" icon.
The configuration for the device space is completed by clicking on the "Save and close plant". The evaluation time range then has to be defined.
Replacing device
If device replacement is required, it can be carried out in the left-hand area using the "Replace device" function:

The existing device can be replaced using drag and drop.
