How can a new firmware be installed?

For the JUMO variTRON devices, the latest firmware version are provided for download on the JUMO homepage.

Downloading firmware

Depending on the variTRON device (variTRON 300, variTRON 500 or variTRON 500 touch), the appropriate firmware is available on the JUMO homepage. The firmware can be downloaded free of charge using the download button :Download:.

Installing firmware

The new firmware can only be installed via the Web Cockpit.
The WebCockpit of a variTRON is reached via its IP address “http://<device-ip>:8090”.
If the WebCockpit is opened for the first time, a user name and the corresponding password are required for authentication (when the variTRON is delivered, the user name is "Master" and the password is "9200").

You enter the following window via Service → Firmware. First the variTRON must be stopped :No1: and then you can jump to the next step by clicking “Next” :No2: .

The new firmware can be added in the field “Insert file here to install, or click it”.

The switch for “Apply current configuration” is only visible from firmware version 8. This can be used to decide whether the current configuration should be retained.

Before installation, a warning note appears that all recorded data will be deleted.

The installation of the firmware may take several minutes.
