How do I put the IPC into operation?

  1. Establish the power supply using the supplied power supply unit.

  2. Plug in network plug.

  3. Carry out network setup.
Option 1: IP address of the IPC is automatically assigned.
Option 2: IP address of the IPC must be manually assigned, as it is not assigned automatically.

The IPC must be in the same network as the JUMO variTRON (PLC) connected to it.

Optionally, a preferred DNS name can be assigned at this point, e.g.:
"evaluation-ipc.kunde.net". (Standard on delivery: "jumo-ipc.jumo.net")

Remote access to the device is possible via SSH access and the stored default users (IPC's user name: "jumo", password: "jumo"). If this is not wanted, the SSH access must be switched off.

  1. Call up the JUMO smartWARE Evaluation software application using the browser via IP address or DNS name. The application can be called up using the IPC, or alternatively via a PC that is in the same network.
    Example: "http://evaluation-ipc.kunde.net"

Optionally, a wildcard CA certificate is saved in JUMO smartWARE Evaluation so that the browser categorizes the page as trustworthy in its own domain.
(Standard on delivery: a self-signed certificate).

  1. Click on JUMO smartWARE Evaluation and enter the user name and password.

Standard user account of the IPC on delivery:

  • User: “jumo”

  • Password: “jumo”

Additional information:

  • The IPC operating system is https://releases.ubuntu.com/jammy/.

  • It is recommended that the master password is changed after setup.

  • Standard user account of the IPC:

    • User: “jumo”

    • Password: “jumo”
